Plant Based Pain Relief for Neuropathy and Arthritis

This is about a blend of essential oils that can be helpful for pain relief, especially nerve pain like sciatica as well as arthritis pain. After receiving many testimonials (see end of post) that this blend helped with neuropathy pain specifically, I thought I'd share the good news! Let's talk about the EOs in this CW Salve Blend that I've named, Nerve Pain & Block. See the recipe here.

CW Helichrysum - this is an essential oil that outshines most when it comes to nerve pain. Use Helichrysum undiluted for immediate action upon injury, use it diluted if injury is hours old. Helichrysum can reduce swelling, slow bleeding, protect against free radicals (antioxidant), it's hypotensive action improves the condition of blood vessels by reducing inflammation.

CW Black Pepper - it's warming, stimulating and improves circulation. It's helpful in removing uric acid from the blood which is good news for chronic rheumatism, arthritis and gout.

CW Birch - this essential oil is also helpful for circulatory issues as a stimulant and a well-known pain reliever. Much like wintergreen, it's high in methyl salicylate - a natural aspirin. Important to note: if you're on blood thinners, allergic to aspirin or epileptic, you should avoid Birch or Wintergreen essential oils.

CW Clove Bud - is considered analgesic with amazing flavonoids (anti-inflammatory agents). Clove Bud is a favorite in the dental arena as an antimicrobial pain reliever with slight numbing properties. Clove Bud Extra is also warming and a wonderful pain reliever for joints and overworked muscles.

Basic symptoms of Neuropathy
  • Feet tingle
  • Feels like pins and needles in my feet
Pain or Increased Sensitivity
  • Burning, stabbing or shooting pains in my feet.
  • My feet are very sensitive to touch ie: sometimes it hurts to have the bed covers touch my feet.
  • I feel like I have gloves or socks on when I don't.
  • My feet hurt at night.
  • My feet and hands get very cold or very hot.
Numbness or Weakness
  • My feet are numb and feel dead.
  • I don't feel pain in my feet, even when I have blisters or injuries.
  • I can't feel my feet when I'm walking.
  • The muscles in my feet and legs are weak.
  • I'm unsteady when I stand or walk.
  • I have trouble feeling heat or cold in my feet or hands.

If you or a loved one has been professionally diagnosed with neuropathy or suffer any of these symptoms CW Nerve Pain & Block might be worth a try. I can't guarantee it will work the same for everyone but what does? Of course, it's best to get a health care providers' opinion on your symptoms as neuropathy can have serious consequences.

If you love to make your own products I happily share my recipes for both the essential oil blend and pure salve base (see link above). Please remember that if you do make your own it's imperative to use the highest quality EOs, coconut oil, olive oil, beeswax, rosehip seed oil and vitamin e oil. Your salve will only be as effective as what you put in them!
