Honestly, how to be delicate about the subject of personal lubricants had me concerned when I considered sharing this idea with you but then I researched the ingredients in store bought brands. Holy KY! I instantly knew it was time to forget about the comfort zone and share a sexy healthy, body friendly alternative that you can make yourself.
Oh hey! This jar of silky, nutrient packed salve just might rock your world on several levels so don't click off yet! Right off the bat, let's talk about what you're using now because many of you are using something! The need for a little help is universal, dryness is a fact of life and common. Sometimes age matters but not always. Women of any age taking oral contraceptives, anti-depressants or other prescription medications can experience aggravated dryness, even breastfeeding moms and, you can bet your first born that menopause is a buzz kill.
If you're counting on commercially made lubricants for help, you might want to think twice about your decision, here's what I learned.
1. Popular brands can kill good vaginal flora lowering immunity and possibly bacterial infection {article by Lauren K. Wolf} “…hyperosmolar lubricants and spermicidal gels killed microbes commonly found in the vagina. For example, K-Y Jelly killed all three species of Lactobacillus it was applied to. Dezzutti says the bacterial kill off is likely caused by the ingredient chlorhexidine, an antibacterial agent. Unbalancing the natural flora in the vagina is another possible strike against personal lubricants, she adds, because it might lead to infections such as bacterial vaginosis.”
2. Glycerine in most lubricants gets processed by the body like a sugar, feeding yeast. Candida is already present in the vagina, although in a short amount, which can result in yeast infections and in a disruption of the vaginal ecosystem.
3. Water-based lubricants with glycerin (as in K-Y Jelly) and propylene glycol, both of which are highly hyperosmotic result in irreversible damage to sperm and a loss in motility.
4. Lubricants can alter the pH of the vagina, creating an inhospitable environment to sperm.
5. Parabens are used as a preservative to increase shelf-life. Parabens are proven hormone disruptors and lead to decreased sperm count in men, linked to cancer and can pose risks to fetal development.
Do you get the picture? No time to be shy so let's move on to a better choice...
Many of you know that my salves are made with the purest ingredients I can find: unrefined virgin coconut oil, pure essential oils, organic olive oil and beeswax including GMO free, food grade vitamin e. It's important that any healing salve is as nutrient-packed as possible for best efficacy because...your salve is only as good as your ingredients.
Solid organic coconut oil is a natural moisturizer, it’s antibacterial and with all those healthy fats, so good for your skin. It’s also the only source of lauric acid outside of mother’s milk. Organic Olive oil has antioxidants including hydroxytyrosol with anti-inflammatory properties. Organic beeswax has non-allergenic properties that can make it a useful skin protection from various airborne allergies. It can also help slow down the dispersal of medications into the body. According to North Carolina State University, it is a good electric insulator. Beeswax also provides slight anti-inflammatory and antioxidant qualities which can benefit the body. Now, do you understand why I'm excited about sharing Sexy Wellness Salve?
I think it's the best kind of lubricant you can use for a delicate area in the place of debilitating and unregulated commercial lubricants. Another plus! Are you prone to yeast infections? If so, look to your diet first of all then deal with the infection as naturally as possible to preserve the good flora. One my favorite remedies for yeast infections is a combination of pure CW Melaleuca and CW Lavender with coconut oil topically. Guess what? Sexy Wellness Salve has all of that PLUS CW Frankincense and does more than just make sex comfortable again! This is a pure, personal lubricant that may prevent a yeast infection after use and heal with its clean anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, tissue restorative properties. Because you're dying to know... Yes, it smells great! Give that tube in your nightstand some serious thought because it's basically glorified $1 hand sanitizer with some nasty properties. Replace it with something you have control over and trust to be good for your body.
I'm not sure how to close this post, other than asking you for a favor. Please talk about this, share this information with your friends and family, everyone should be aware that there are healthier alternatives out there using simple and pure ingredients.
I'm pleased to offer CW Sexy Wellness Salve with ROSE to those of you who don't have the time or the motivation to make your own! Rest assured my salves are made with only the purest ingredients including organic, hand processed coconut, organic oil olive, beeswax, non-GMO vitamin e and the purest essential oils that my family and myself use every day. I like to say that my salves are so pure they're edible because they are!
