Natural Remedy for Allergic Rhinitis

If your nose is annoyingly runny or stuffy, you sneeze a lot and maybe your mouth or skin feels itchy year round, you may have Perennial Allergic Rhinitis - this condition affects 40 to 60 million Americans each year! PAR like other allergies and skin rashes occurs when the body's immune system becomes sensitized and overreacts to environmental triggers that most people have no problem with.

Perennial Allergic Rhinitis is usually aggravated by dust mites, pet hair or dander and yes, even toxic MOLD - be sure to rule this toxin out as it can be a mitochondrial poison.

An allergen (like pollen or dust) enters the nose, sensitizing the mast cells.

"Mast cells are fascinating, multifunctional, bone marrow-derived, tissue-dwelling cells. They can be activated to degranulate in minutes, not only by IgE and antigen signaling via the high-affinity receptor for IgE, but also by a diverse group of stimuli. These cells can release a wide variety of immune mediators, including an expanding list of cytokines, chemokines, and growth factors. Mast cells have been shown to play roles in allergic inflammation and, more recently, they have been shown to modulate coagulation cascades, host defense, and tissue remodeling. The role of mast cells in asthma and other diseases is being actively studied."

Ready for some good news?

According to a PubMed study I found, inhalation of key essential oils have proven beneficial in relieving symptoms of Perennial Allergic Rhinitis, this is the good news! Now you can try a natural remedy vs steroids and OTC decongestants that can be addictive and may cause restlessness, anxiety and insomnia.

Effect of Inhalation of Aromatherapy Oil on Patients with Perennial Allergic Rhinitis: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

In summary - this study set out to investigate the effects of aromatherapy oil inhalation on symptoms, quality of life, sleep quality, and fatigue level among adults with Perennial Allergic Rhinitis (PAR).

54 men and women aged 20 to 60 were randomized to inhale aromatherapy oil or, almond oil (the placebo) for 5 minutes twice daily for 7 days. Compared with the placebo the experimental group showed significant improvement in Total Nasal Symptom Score especially in nasal obstruction. The aromatherapy group also showed significantly higher improvements in total score of Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionaire and Chalder Fatigue Scale. These findings indicate that inhalation of certain aromatherapy oil helps relieve Perennial Allergic Rhinitis.

Diffusing essential oils is a comprehensive way to enjoy the benefits of aromatherapy throughout the day or night. Simply add water and a few drops of essential oils to an ultrasonic essential oil diffuser such as the pretty diffuser in the photo above. You can also practice inhaling your choice of essential oils through the day directly from the bottle (great when traveling or at work) but I prefer diffusing, the water vapor your diffuser sends into the air is infused with essential oils and can purify the air while you're enjoying the aromatic benefits.

Our LLP Allergy Assist Antihistamine Blend was created to protect against seasonal and environmental allergies. Comprised of equal parts of Lemon, Lavender, and Peppermint essential oils are known for their ability to maintain clear breathing and a healthy immune response when combined together. This blend is invaluable in the diffuser to purify the air of allergens.

When allergies wreak havoc, consider essential oils. I've seen small miracles occur, a young man with serious environmental allergies that mega doses of benadryl could no longer touch get his life back by taking a capsule of 9 drops LLP Antihistamine Blend 3x daily and, diffusing LLP in a diffuser night and day.
